High School Programmes in South Africa are a very popular way of younger students learning and improving their English by participating in a High School curriculum and the South African way of life. During your time at High School you will attend all lessons in English and so your command and understanding of English will improve in no time. After school you will be encouraged to attend and join After School Clubs for Sports; Drama; Debating or Community Work. Our host family will ensure that you are welcomed as part of the family; take part in all family events and feel safe and secure with them.

If you choose to book and attend one of our High School Programmes then you can be sure that we have carefully found a formula which works. You will have;
- Attendance at the High School of your choice
- Accommodation in a good quality and regularly inspected Host Family close to school
- Additional Trips and Excursions during School Holidays run by our Company or your host family
- regular contact with our Local Co Ordinator to ensure everything is going well
- South African Sim Card to get you going on our first few days
We will place you in the school of your choice and your host family will be chosen according to your choice of school. It is your host family who will meet you at the Airport, and you will already be like “old friends” as you will have spoken and emailed them before your arrive.
On the first day of school, your host family will take you there and introduce you. The Co Ordinator might also be there to welcome you but if not, she will meet you in the first few days. School uniform will be taken care of before hand and you will turn up on the first day, ready for action!
We will encourage you to get as much out of your South African Experience as possible and to make new friends as well as try new sports and hobbies. After School Clubs of all descriptions are available and you will be actively encouraged to try your hand at many of the subject on offer. After School it will be homework and then time with your new family.
Weekends in South Africa are always active, even in the Winter. You will be spending time with your Host family who will be keen to show you as much of the country as they can. If you are staying during longer school holidays, then don’t be surprised if they take you away camping or hiking as South Africans love the outdoor life. If you have made friends with students in your school, then it will be permitted for you to spend time with them either at your house; their house or at an organized activity. Safety is always paramount with our students and we encourage you not to wander off on your own and ensure your host family knows where you are at all times
Your Local Co Ordinator will meet you and keep in touch with you very often. It is their job to ensure that you are safe; settled and happy at school. Any small or worrying issues can be talked with to her any time you are worried. Always in confidence!
By the time you have finished your High School Experience in South Africa your English will certainly have improved. You will be able to return home and possibly take a formal English Examination such as First Certificate; IELTS; PET; Cambridge English & BEC. Your choice is endless. Not only that you will leave feeling more confident and experienced and ready for your next step towards High Education. Attending a High School Programme allows you to make friends and mix with other people around the World also attending high School Programmes. You will make long and lasting friendships with local people and your host family and learn more about the Rainbow Country than you ever thought possible.

Simons Town High School
Established for over 200 years and offers a wide range of subjects plus is linked to Simons Town Naval Academy. Its vibrant; inter active and has students from 5 to 19 years. The students hail from Europe; Africa and South America. The local bus is offered or you can go with your host family.
Brackenfell High School
Just north of Cape Town with a high emphasis on results. They have teams for Rugby, Cricket and Tennis and you are actively encouraged to join in. They run ‘a tight ship” so the correct uniform is important.
